2011 brings much memories for TX Travel, especially in the Tour department. As a new tradition starting 2012, we are kicking off our new blog for our travels.
First on the list is a fam-trip for TX Travel and Jakarta Express senior staff. We went on a 11 day trip to Egypt, Israel and Jordan. There were so many things we saw, it's hard to even begin describing each day. Here's how it goes roughly
Day 1: Cairo, where we saw one of the 7 wonders of the world : Great Pyramid of Giza. We also saw the sphinx, and visited several religious sites such as the Hanging Church (where a church is suspended upon an old fort foundation), Cave Church (an entire church carved on a rock mountain).
Day 2: St Catherine. One of the most tiring, yet fulfilling days of the entire trip. We climbed Mt. Sinai on camels and climbed roughly about 1KM vertically to reach the top.
Day 3: Taba (Red Sea). To commemorate the passing of 2011, we stayed in the beautiful Hilton Resort in Taba, right next to the Red Sea. We bonded while watching the last ray of the sun fade out in 2011.
Day 4: Jericho. Swam in the dead sea, what more can I say about that? We all floated, including all the chubby and overweight ones =)
Day 5 - 6: Jerusalem. While our Christian friends went to the Western Wall and walked the Via Dolorosa, our Muslim comrades went to pray at the historic Al Aqsa mosque.
Day 7: Mt Hermon. It's almost as if it were meant to be. Mt Hermon snowed just the day before we arrived, so we get to experience snow. Perfect timing and weather!
Day 8 - 9: Tiberias. Some of us got baptized in the River Jordan, and we saw ancient historic cities like Capharnaum, the Church of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Church of Annunciation and Transfiguration.
Day 10: Jordan. According to history, Moses saw the promised land from Mt Nebo. We went there too, but unlike Moses, we just came out of the promised land.
Day 11: Home finally! and ready to set another great year in 2012
It was a great trip, the staff bonded with one another and promised each other to work harmoniously in the new year. For a similar trip, please do not hesitate to contact 021-380 9999 or visit us at TX Travel
We hope to see you in our blogs soon!
